STYLLENT KNIT LIMITED, a 100% export-oriented sweater manufacturing company, is looking for a technically competent and experienced Fabric /Yarn Technologist (Executive) to join its team.
The position will be responsible for yarn and fabric development, technical evaluation, quality assessment, testing, troubleshooting, supplier/mill coordination, and ensuring compliance with buyer requirements and approved standards from development through bulk production.
Responsibilities:
Handle yarn and fabric development activities from yarn selection and development through bulk production.
Analyze and verify yarn count, composition, yarn quality, knitting gauge (GG), fabric construction, GSM, and other relevant technical parameters.
Coordinate and follow up on lab-dips, strike-offs, yarn/fabric developments, and approval processes.
Coordinate and monitor relevant yarn and fabric testing, including shrinkage, spirality, pilling, colorfastness*, and other applicable quality parameters.
Inspect yarn and evaluate bulk yarn lots against approved standards, specifications, and quality requirements.
Assess potential yarn and fabric-related risks before bulk production and recommend appropriate preventive measures.
Identify and troubleshoot yarn and fabric defects and conduct root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
Coordinate with Knitting, Dyeing, Finishing, QA, and Merchandising teams regarding yarn/fabric development and quality-related issues.
Communicate with yarn suppliers and mills regarding development, quality issues, corrective actions, and technical requirements.
Evaluate suppliers/mills from a technical and quality perspective and conduct necessary technical follow-up.
Ensure yarn and fabric comply with buyer requirements, approved specifications, quality standards, and applicable testing requirements.
Review yarn and fabric test reports and initiate necessary corrective and preventive actions where required.
Maintain and update yarn/fabric libraries, technical sheets, specifications, test reports, approval records, and other relevant documentation.
Provide technical support to relevant departments for yarn and fabric-related issues during development and bulk production.
Ensure timely completion of yarn/fabric development, testing, and approval processes.
Work closely with the relevant teams to ensure technical requirements are properly implemented during bulk production.
