Job Purpose:

Smart Distribution (Pvt.) Ltd. is looking for a responsible, organized and experienced Executive / Senior Executive – VAT, Tax & Compliance to manage the company’s VAT and income tax documentation, supporting schedules, reconciliations and compliance records.

The selected candidate will act as the in-house VAT & Tax compliance coordinator, ensuring that all required documents, reconciliations, working papers and supporting schedules are accurately prepared, properly maintained and provided to the company’s VAT Consultant and Income Tax Lawyer on time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain complete, accurate and systematic VAT and tax-related documentation and records.
• Prepare monthly VAT working papers and supporting documents for VAT Return (Mushak).
• Maintain applicable Mushak forms, VAT invoices/challans, purchase and sales records, registers and supporting documents.
• Reconcile monthly sales, purchases, inventory and VAT records with accounting/ERP records.
• Maintain VDS, TDS and AIT records, challans, certificates and supporting documents.
• Maintain records of VAT and tax payments, including treasury challans and e-payment documents.
• Prepare necessary schedules and supporting documents required for the company’s annual income tax return.
• Organize and maintain purchase invoices, sales invoices, expense documents, bank records, import/LC/customs documents, fixed asset information and other tax-related supporting documents.
• Coordinate regularly with the company’s VAT Consultant and Income Tax Lawyer and provide requested information and documents promptly.
• Assist in preparing documents and schedules required for VAT/tax audits, assessments, notices and regulatory queries.
• Maintain well-organized physical and digital filing systems for quick retrieval of documents.
• Prepare and maintain a monthly and annual VAT & Tax Compliance Calendar and ensure statutory deadlines are met.
• Monitor pending compliance matters and follow up with relevant departments and external professionals.
• Identify missing documents, discrepancies, reconciliation issues and potential compliance risks and report them to management in advance.
• Perform other VAT, tax and accounts-related duties assigned by management.
