Responsibilities & Context

Position Overview is looking for a highly efficient and experienced Commercial Officer to manage our growing import portfolio.
The ideal candidate must possess deeply specialized, up-to-date knowledge of Bangladesh customs clearance regulations and BSTI clearance certifications, specifically governing imported food products, cosmetics, and perfumes.
You will be responsible for handling end-to-end import operations, maintaining accurate landed costing profiles, and ensuring seamless compliance by both air and sea freight channels.
Key Responsibilities Import Documentation & Operations: Execute end-to-end import cycles, including opening LCs, reviewing Proforma Invoices (PI), preparing Bills of Exchange, and vetting shipping documents.
Customs Clearance Coordination: Oversee and expedite customs clearance processes at all major air and sea ports (such as HSIA and Chittagong Port).
Liaise regularly with C&F agents, freight forwarders, and shipping lines.
Tariff & Regulatory Vetting: Leverage comprehensive knowledge of the Bangladesh Customs Tariff (HS Codes) to accurately classify products, identify regulatory requirements, and calculate statutory duties (CD, RD, SD, VAT, AIT, AT).
Landed Costing Mastery: Compute precision-level, granular landed costing calculations for shipments via air and sea freight to ensure highly accurate retail pricing.
Regulatory Compliance: Secure mandatory import approvals, statutory sampling clearances, and certifications from respective authorities such as BSTI, BAEC, and the Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA) for cosmetics and specialized items.
