Assistant Architect (Draftsmanship)

A formal job opportunity for the position of *Assistant Architect* at a newly formed construction company located in Banani, Dhaka.

Location: Banani, Dhaka

Main roles and responsibilities

• Create and update Apartment and Industrial construction drawings

• Produce drawings based on architect/engineer concepts (plans, sections, elevations, details).

• Update drawings as designs change during the project.

• Prepare shop drawings (when assigned)

• Create drawings for specific components (steel details, façades, MEP layouts, reinforcement layouts, etc.), often for approval.

• Follow standards and specifications

• Ensure drawings follow drafting conventions (scales, line types,

• annotations) and company/project standards.

• Apply correct symbols, dimensions, and notes.

• Coordinate drawing information

• Ensure drawings are consistent with structural, architectural, and MEP requirements.

• Update drawings when engineers issue revisions or when site

• conditions require changes.

• Work with revisions and change documents

• Mark revisions properly (revision clouds/bars, version control).

• Maintain an organized drawing register (what’s latest, what was

• issued for approval).

• Produce quantities-related drawing support (sometimes)

• In some firms, draftsmen assist with drawings that support

• BOQs/material takeoffs (not always the draftsman’s main duty, but it can be part of the workflow).

• Support construction documentation

• Provide as-built drawing updates (record drawings) when work is completed or when changes occur.

• Support site teams

• Provide clarification drawings or additional details requested by

• engineers/foremen (within approved scope).

• Maintain drawing quality

• Check for errors (missing dimensions, wrong levels, inconsistent numbering).

• Ensure drawings are readable and complete for submission/implementation.
