Accounts Officer

Job Context:

A reputed private college, approved by the Ministry of Education, Government of Bangladesh, has been operating successfully in Savar, Dhaka since 2014. As a concern of the global Versatilo Group (www.versatilo.group), the college invites applications from honest, qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Accounts Officer.

The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring proper control of financial transactions and providing timely reports to the college management and Head Office.

Responsibilities & Context:

• Maintain student fee records, cashbook, bankbook, ledgers and daily financial transactions.
• Collect approved fees, issue official receipts and ensure timely bank deposits.
• Prepare vouchers, bank-reconciliation statements, outstanding-dues reports and monthly financial reports.
• Process authorized bills, salaries, supplier payments and petty-cash expenses.
• Maintain proper supporting documents for all income and expenditure.
• Assist with budgeting, payroll, VAT, tax and internal or external audits.
• Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software and MS Excel.
• Submit accurate and timely financial reports to the college management and Head Office.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and safeguard all financial documents.
• Promptly and confidentially report any suspected illegal, fraudulent or unauthorized financial activity to the authorized Head Office representative with supporting information.
• Perform other relevant accounts-related duties assigned by the authorized management.
