What it covers
A scholarship towards graduate study in the United States or Canada. It is a contribution to the year's costs, awarded on need as well as merit, rather than a full package.
Who can apply
International women, including Bangladeshi nationals, pursuing a full-time graduate degree in the United States or Canada, who will have at least one full year of study remaining and who intend to return to their home country. US and Canadian citizens and permanent residents are not eligible.
How to apply
- Establish eligibility through the P.E.O. online process before the application itself opens — this is a separate, earlier step.
- Secure admission to a US or Canadian graduate programme.
- Complete the application with its financial information and references.
- Awards are announced ahead of the academic year.

- Proof of admission to a graduate programme
- Transcripts
- Financial need statement
- Two or three recommendations
- Proof of non-US and non-Canadian citizenship
- Passport and visa documentation
Tips from successful applicants
- The eligibility step has its own earlier deadline; missing it closes the round entirely.
- Financial need is weighed alongside merit, so the financial section is not a formality.
- You must have at least a full year of study left when the award begins — final-year students do not qualify.
