What it covers
A one-off contribution towards the first year of study. It does not cover the full cost, so it is a top-up to other funding rather than a complete package.
Who can apply
Students from outside the European Economic Area, including Bangladesh, applying for a bachelor's or master's at a participating Dutch university. Each institution sets its own additional criteria.
How to apply
- Check which Dutch universities offer the NL Scholarship for your programme.
- Apply for admission to the programme first.
- Submit the university's own NL Scholarship application by its deadline.
- Selection is made by the university, not centrally.

- Treat this as a partial award: plan how the rest of the year is paid for before you accept a place.
- Terms differ by university even though the name is shared — read the page for your institution.
