- Research Institute for Urban Management and Governance
- Parttime, 30 hours /week
- Starting November 01, 2026, and ending on October 31, 2027
The Research Institute for Urban Management and Governance takes a multidisciplinary approach towards analysing issues of modern city management as well as questions of urban governance in an international context. The institute’s focus and core competences lie in the fields of the Social Sciences, Economics and Law.

What to expect
- You will work on third-party funded research projects and contribute to other research and teaching activities at the institute
- You will develop and work on your own research and publications
- You will co-supervise bachelor theses
- As part of the team, you will support selected organizational and administrative tasks at the institute
What you have to offer
- You hold a diploma or master’s degree with strong academic performance in law
- You have very good knowledge of public and/or EU law, and bring experience in or curiosity about the institute’s main areas of research (including environmental and climate protection law; spatial planning and urban development; public services; law and political economy/socioeconomics; polarization and democracy under pressure)
- Experience in conducting externally funded research projects and/or experience in scholarly publishing are an asset
- You have an excellent command of written and spoken English, German language skills are an asset
- You have a very good command of MS Office and experience in using legal databases and research tools
- You are a team player, flexible and self-motivated
- Prior teaching or instructional support experience (tutoring, grading, course assistance) is appreciated

The minimum monthly gross salary amounts to €2,832.08 (14 times per year). This salary may be adjusted based on job-related prior work experience. In addition, we offer a wide range of attractive social benefits.
