About this position
Title of the scientific task: Structural, calorimetric, and magnetic property studies of metallic alloys, with a particular focus on hard magnetic and structurally metastable materials, as well as solid-state physics phenomena occurring within them. The preferred candidate should have extensive experience in the synthesis and property analysis of bulk metallic materials obtained using arc melting and rapid solidification techniques (e.g., melt-spinning).
Duties:
- Synthesis of metallic alloys, including intermetallic compounds, using arc melting and rapid solidification techniques (melt-spinning);
- X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements and data analysis (phase identification, determination of lattice parameters, and evaluating the impact of structural properties on magnetic performance);
- Analysis of structurally metastable alloys using calorimetric techniques;
- Measurement and analysis of magnetic properties, including magnetization as a function of the external magnetic field and temperature, along with data interpretation;
- Active publication of scientific results — presentation and dissemination of research findings, documented by a proven track record of prior publications, preferably as first author in peer-reviewed international journals;
- Handling and development of technological and measurement equipment.
Keywords: intermetallic compounds, structurally metastable alloys, solid state physics, magnetism, structural analysis, hard magnetic materials, X-ray diffraction, magnetic measurement, synthesis and characterization of metallic materials, experimental physics
