Boya Fellowship in Astronomy at PKU/KIAA

About this position

• The Kavli Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics (KIAA) at Peking
• University invites applications for the Boya Fellowship, with a
• deadline of October 14. This call is distinct from the annual KIAA
• Fellowship advertisement, which has a deadline in mid-November. The
• start date is from the past 6 months (for postdocs already at PKU)
• before July 2027. For the Boya Fellowship, only applications with
• support from a faculty member will be evaluated. Some candidates may
• prefer to apply to the School of Physics, which includes the
• Department of Astronomy. The School of Physics will have its own

• two letters, to be uploaded here. One letter must be from the PhD
• supervisor, who should specifically address the applicant's academic
• integrity along with a standard letter. One letter must be from the
• prospective postdoctoral supervisor at PKU (KIAA or Department of
• Astronomy are both possible), which outlines the applicant’s academic
• background, research potential and achievements, and comprehensive
• qualifications, detailed information on the added value for the
• research project and a clear statement of commitment regarding the
• physical and intellectual research support that the supervisor will
• provide to the applicant. Applications without these letters of
• support cannot be evaluated. In addition to those forms and reference
• letters (in English or Chinese), we request a cover letter, CV, and
• publication list in English. The research statement (English or
• Chinese) should be a few pages and included in the Boya form linked
