About the Opportunity
Job Summary
- A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the
- Saavedra lab in the Department of Biology at Northeastern
- University in Boston, MA. The lab is interested in understanding
- mechanisms driving innate immune responses during host-pathogen
- interactions, and how commensal microbes shape host immunity in
- health and disease. Our research combines biochemistry, genetics,
- microbiology, and cell biological approaches. For more information

- The successful candidate for this role will join a
- multidisciplinary and highly collaborative research team and will
- lead research projects tailored to the candidate's interest. The
- candidate will also have numerous opportunities for career and
- professional growth
Key Responsibilities
- Design, execute, analyze and interpret experiments independently
- Present research findings at lab meetings and scientific conferences
- Help with mentoring of undergraduate and graduate student
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in immunology, microbiology, cell biology or related areas
- Experience with in vivo animal models or multi-color flow cytometry are preferred
- At least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills with strong attention to detail
- Proactive, and able to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic, diverse, and growing team

Compensation Grade/Pay Type:
108S
Expected Hiring Range:
$60,315.00 - $85,192.50
- With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend
- on several factors, which may include your education, experience,
- location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay
- comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role.
- Salary ranges are reviewed regularly and are subject to
- change.
