- The Maxwell Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated and creative
- postdoctoral fellow to study early detection and early cancer
- development in patients with inherited risk to cancer. In
- collaboration with other investigators within the Basser Center for
- BRCA at Penn Medicine, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Dana
- Farber Cancer Institute, St Jude's Children's Hospital and Ontario
- institute for Cancer Research, we are studying early cancer
- detection and initiation in individuals with inherited mutations in
- TP53 and BRCA1/2 . The postdoctoral fellow, along
- with graduate students, research technicians and clinical research
- coordinators in the lab, will lead projects studying the clinical
- utility of multi-modal cancer early detection tests and early
- cancer development in these patients. Dr. Kara Maxwell Is the
- Director of the Basser Center for BRCA Men and
- BRCA Program and has a clinical practice caring for
- patients with cancer predisposition syndromes. The laboratory has
- established both the Li Fraumeni Syndrome (LFS) and Men &
- BRCA Biobanks containing extensive clinical information
- and biospecimens from these patients which are utilized for our
- experiments.
Qualifications
- Qualified applicants should have a doctoral degree (PhD, MD/PhD, MD
- or equivalent) and have a strong background in genomics, molecular
- biology and bioinformatics. A background in mouse genetics and
- mouse models of cancer is preferred but not required.
