The organizers of DTMBIO 2026 are pleased to announce the 20th International Conference on Data and Text Mining in Biomedical Informatics (DTMBIO 2026). The conference focuses on advances in biomedical informatics, genomics, and bioinformatics, bringing together researchers and practitioners to present innovative applications of state-of-the-art informatics methods in biomedical research.

Biomedical researchers are increasingly challenged to make effective use of the enormous volume of electronic biomedical data in order to better understand and explain complex biological systems. These data repositories encompass a wide range of formats, including bibliographic information from medical journals, gene expression data from sequencing experiments, protein identification and quantification data from proteomics studies, genomic sequences generated by massively parallel sequencing, and patient healthcare records. Automatically extracting, integrating, interpreting, and utilizing information embedded in such heterogeneous data—both structured and unstructured—remains a major challenge.

DTMBIO 2026 invites submissions that address these and related challenges from methodological, applied, and evaluative perspectives. Accepted full papers will be invited for a special issue of the Computational and Structural Biotechnology Journal (CSBJ) or sister journals in the Science Partner Journals (SPJ).

Topic of Interest The relevant topics include the following (but not limited to): •Artificial intelligence-driven analysis of large-scale biological and clinical datasets •Protein and RNA structure prediction using deep learning approaches •Gene and genome annotation with machine learning techniques •Biomedical and clinical text mining and natural language processing •Information retrieval and knowledge extraction from biomedical databases •Genomic, transcriptomic, and multi-omics data integration and analysis •Human microbiome data mining and modeling •Medical ontologies and semantic data integration •Named entity recognition and concept extraction in biomedical text •Discovery of sequence and structural motifs •Modeling of biochemical pathways and biological networks •Image mining in medical and healthcare informatics •AI-driven approaches in drug discovery, systems biology, and biomedical workflows Big bio- or clinical- data analytics

Submission Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished research papers that are not being considered for publication in any other forum. Manuscripts should be submitted electronically in PDF format and prepared using the CSBJ templates (available at https://spj.science.org/page/csbj/for-authors).

Full Papers: •Full paper submissions must present substantial, original, completed, and unpublished work. •Full papers may be up to eight pages in length. •Accepted full papers will be included in the conference program and presented orally in 20-minute presentation slots. •CSBJ Bioinformatics Template: https://spj.science.org/page/csbj/for-authors

Posters: •DTMBIO 2026 also invites submissions for posters. Poster submissions should describe original and unpublished work, including preliminary findings, emerging ideas, or ongoing research relevant to the scope of the conference. •Authors should submit a one-page abstract outlining the background, objectives, methods, key results, and significance of the work, using the template below. •At the time of submission, authors should indicate whether they would like to be considered for a short talk. •Selected poster submissions may also be invited for 15-minute short talk presentations as part of the conference program. •CSBJ Poster Template: https://shorturl.at/bVf7l
